What Moves the Needle Most
How much each factor changes your Plan A: Effective / Month across its full range. Plan A €/mo has the biggest impact.
Focus your attention on Plan A €/mo — getting it right matters most. Factors lower down move the result less, so rough estimates there are fine.
Confidence & Assumptions
The outcome shifts meaningfully with your assumptions. Sensible, but revisit the key inputs.
Plan A: Effective / Month: €45 (worst) → €38 (expected) → €32 (best)
These are the estimates the result depends on. Adjust them (and the Advanced inputs) to match your real situation — the closer they are to reality, the more reliable your decision.

How This Calculator Works
What this calculator does
This calculator compares two ISP plans on total cost over years, effective monthly price after install fees, and cost per Mbps so you can judge value — not just the headline rate.
How the calculation works
We add monthly fees across the period plus install/setup fees each contract renewal, then divide by months and by speed to get effective €/month and €/Mbps.
Formula
Total = Monthly × Months + Install × ceil(Months / ContractMonths) Effective Monthly = Total / Months €/Mbps = Effective Monthly / Speed
Example
Plan A €35/mo + €50 install over 3 years ≈ €1,310 (€36.4/mo effective). Plan B €45/mo, no install ≈ €1,620. Plan A is cheaper unless you truly need the extra speed.
How to Use This Calculator
- 1Enter your numbers
Fill in the inputs for Internet Plan Comparison Calculator. Defaults are realistic starting points — replace them with your actual figures.
- 2Understand the calculation
We add monthly fees across the period plus install/setup fees each contract renewal, then divide by months and by speed to get effective €/month and €/Mbps.
- 3Review results and scenarios
Check metrics, cost breakdown, comparison tables, and best / expected / worst scenarios. Use sliders to stress-test assumptions.
- 4Decide with the verdict
Read the decision engine recommendation and FAQ. Example: Plan A €35/mo + €50 install over 3 years ≈ €1,310 (€36.4/mo effective). Plan B €45/mo, no install ≈ €1,620. Plan A is cheaper unless you truly need the extra speed.
Factors to Consider
- Post-promo price after the intro period
- Router rental and modem fees
- Upload speed for video calls and uploads
- Contract exit fees if you may move
- Reliability and customer support quality
Common Mistakes
- Using intro pricing for a multi-year comparison
- Ignoring install and activation fees
- Paying for gigabit when 100–300 Mbps is enough
- Forgetting equipment rental in the monthly total
Frequently Asked Questions
How much speed do I need?+
Most households are fine with 100–300 Mbps. Gigabit helps with many simultaneous 4K streams or heavy uploads — not everyday browsing.
Are shorter contracts better?+
Shorter contracts improve flexibility if you may move or switch. Longer deals sometimes include lower monthly rates — compare totals here.
